Classical Homework

For some reason, our kids love to congregate around the kitchen table and do their homework together. I’m so glad they like to be together, but it can make homework time very disruptive as they all try to tell jokes, etc. It sounds kinda funny, but when I turn on classical music (it has to be classical because then there are no words to sing along with, etc) everyone seems to be able to concentrate better and not talk to each other so much. It really works! And best of all: sometimes after homework is done, they are inspired by the music and put on impromptu ballet concerts. Everyone except for my son, that is. However, I did notice that during Aaron Copeland’s “Rodeo” he started jumping around and got his toy guns out to be some sort of cowboy. Hilarious.

It sounds blissful, children doing their homework accompanied by classical music. Brilliant idea putting on something without any words to sing along to! I used to put Mozart on when my daughter was a baby while she slept, then for a few minutes I could pretend my life was perfect! Your son’s antics made me laugh!xx
