St. Patrick’s Day
Wednesday, March 17th, 2010It’s Just Another Mustache Monday…
Monday, March 15th, 2010(Title of this post is to be sung to the tune of The Bangles’ Manic Monday.) So we tried black face paint this time instead of eyeliner when we sneakily painted mustaches on our kids in the middle of the night. They woke up with their mustaches a bit smudged! SO funny. I found these wax mustaches to put in their lunches today. I hope the ones at school enjoy finding them in their lunches as much as the ones who were at home did! You can view the pictures from our last “Mustache Monday” here.

Thursday, February 18th, 2010Girls’ Valentine’s Day Party
Thursday, February 18th, 2010So I let my daughters invite a few friends over for a Valentine’s Day breakfast party. So fun! Only I forgot to wash my white tablecloth and had to use a blue one. Hehe, I don’t think the girls really cared too much about that detail! We played a little game after with candy hearts and a silly little story I wrote. Each person had to read what they came up with.
Valentine’s Day Gift for Husband
Thursday, February 18th, 2010I made my husband a big heart pillow with a little heart pocket in the front for Valentine’s Day. I filled the pocket with little love notes out of muslin (I found the idea for the love notes from Cakies blog found here.)
Valentine Box
Thursday, February 18th, 2010My daughter had the idea to make a cake for her valentine box for her school class this year. We ended up making a wedding cake and taped pictures of her school teacher and her teacher’s husband over some mega-blocks characters that we placed on top. My husband actually used a caulking gun for the frosting.
Olympics for Kids!
Thursday, February 18th, 2010The kids were home from school for President’s Day so we had our own Olympic games. Each child chose a country and then made a mascot and got a flag. We had a parade, a lighting of the “torch” (candles), a celebration with snaps and confetti, and made the medals. Then the events started: water balloon throw, paper airplane folding and throw, fishing, balancing an object on head, shooting targets with toy gun, drinking water contest, tiddlywinks, and others. To wrap things up we even had a medals ceremony. So much fun! The kids really enjoyed watching some events on TV, too.
