I had two girls home sick from school yesterday, so we decided to make these little valentine wreaths for their rooms. I folded two paper plates in half and cut a heart out of the center of each one. Then we cut out several shapes and sizes of hearts from red and pink cardstock. We then glued the hearts to the paper plates, added some bling and some hanging ribbon on the back and VOILA!

Wednesday, January 19th, 2011I hope you all had a verrrry Merry Christmas and a great New Year’s! Now on to Valentine’s Day, right? I made this fun frame with the inspiration and how-to from here and here. I bought the frame at the dollar store and the crepe paper for 50 cents. Then I removed the glass from the frame and cut some scrapbook paper to fit. I made my rosettes quite small. I double folded the crepe paper. Fun and festive!
Valentine’s Day Gift for Husband
Thursday, February 18th, 2010I made my husband a big heart pillow with a little heart pocket in the front for Valentine’s Day. I filled the pocket with little love notes out of muslin (I found the idea for the love notes from Cakies blog found here.)
Making Valentines
Saturday, February 13th, 2010Valentine’s Day Last Year
Saturday, January 30th, 2010Last year for Valentine’s Day I made felt crowns and little skirts for my girls. SO much fun! My husband made my son a wooden rubber band gun like his grandpa used to make for him. I made my son a little gun holster and a pouch to hold a bunch of felt “disguises” that I made for him. Grandpa even tried on the beard. It looked so funny! I didn’t have any patterns or anything, so they are definitely not “perfect,” but they were so much fun to make and surprise them with. Especially while they are young and think that things made of felt are cool! We had a pancake dinner with whipped cream and pie cherry filling to top them off. I need some good ideas for this year. Any suggestions?
