So I got out my sewing scissors and pinking shears today and cut felt pieces into a little “cupcake kit” for my daughter to play with.
I already had lots of felt scraps on hand, so this really didn’t cost anything. Yay!
Now to clean up the mess…
So I’m so grateful for my mom and my mom-in-law! What amazing women they are. I wanted to share a little project I made for my mom-in-law for Mother’s Day: I bought a little tin garden canister from the local ShopKo. I placed a square of styrofoam in the bottom and stuck wooden skewers into it. On top of the skewers I cut out flower shapes from scrapbook paper and stuck them through the skewers. Then I put a Hershey kiss through the very top of each skewer. My kids all wrote little notes to Grandma that we stuck on to some of the skewers. I added a bunch of Hershey kisses to cover up the styrofoam on the bottom of the canister. My mom-in-law really liked it! My mom is out of town and I have yet to give her her gift…

And my husband made me this yummy pizza from scratch! Yes, he is awesome. ♥
SO we had another Mustache Monday today. In addition to painting mustaches on our kids during the night, we made these tootsie roll mustaches as a family this evening. FuN and SiLLiNeSs! If you want to make some with your lovelies, watch this video to find out how. Have fun! (click on any of these images to view larger..)
I had two girls home sick from school yesterday, so we decided to make these little valentine wreaths for their rooms. I folded two paper plates in half and cut a heart out of the center of each one. Then we cut out several shapes and sizes of hearts from red and pink cardstock. We then glued the hearts to the paper plates, added some bling and some hanging ribbon on the back and VOILA!
I hope you all had a verrrry Merry Christmas and a great New Year’s! Now on to Valentine’s Day, right? I made this fun frame with the inspiration and how-to from here and here. I bought the frame at the dollar store and the crepe paper for 50 cents. Then I removed the glass from the frame and cut some scrapbook paper to fit. I made my rosettes quite small. I double folded the crepe paper. Fun and festive!
I found these great little projects here. Very cute and fun to make.
