Teacher Appreciation Gifts

Saturday, May 26th, 2012

My kids had such awesome teachers this year! I’m so grateful for them. We made these fun “flower baskets” for them using the same techniques from this post. I think they turned out really cute.

This is a little design I did for Illustration Friday. The prompt for this week is “sight.” Hopefully this will pass: This little birdie is one of the cutest in sight. :)

Solar Eclipse

Monday, May 21st, 2012

Did you see the solar eclipse yesterday?  Pretty cool.  Handy husband made an awesome viewer, or “projector” for the kids to see what the sun looked like in a crescent shape.  He’s so clever!  The kids loved it.

Mother’s Day

Monday, May 14th, 2012

So I’m so grateful for my mom and my mom-in-law! What amazing women they are.  I wanted to share a little project I made for my mom-in-law for Mother’s Day:  I bought a little tin garden canister from the local ShopKo.  I placed a square of styrofoam in the bottom and stuck wooden skewers into it.  On top of the skewers I cut out flower shapes from scrapbook paper and stuck them through the skewers.  Then I put a Hershey kiss through the very top of each skewer.  My kids all wrote little notes to Grandma that we stuck on to some of the skewers.  I added a bunch of Hershey kisses to cover up the styrofoam on the bottom of the canister.   My mom-in-law really liked it!  My mom is out of town and I have yet to give her her gift…
