Classical Homework

For some reason, our kids love to congregate around the kitchen table and do their homework together. I’m so glad they like to be together, but it can make homework time very disruptive as they all try to tell jokes, etc. It sounds kinda funny, but when I turn on classical music (it has to be classical because then there are no words to sing along with, etc) everyone seems to be able to concentrate better and not talk to each other so much. It really works! And best of all: sometimes after homework is done, they are inspired by the music and put on impromptu ballet concerts. Everyone except for my son, that is. However, I did notice that during Aaron Copeland’s “Rodeo” he started jumping around and got his toy guns out to be some sort of cowboy. Hilarious.

I love you!

All of these words are confined to a small space. I love Valentine’s Day images…can you tell?

Hanging with family, witnessing my brother’s new talent of making balloon animals for everyone, school programs, fabulous dessert my sister-in-law made, bookmarks my sweet daughter made for Christmas gifts, cool jewelry boxes two of my kids painted for two of my other kids, Christmas morning, magical Christmas tree lights, and the love of the Savior felt by one and all.  How was your holiday?
