Mother’s Day Gifts

Tuesday, May 11th, 2010

Lately I have been looking into my family history and it has been so interesting.  Some of my ancestors were absolutely fearless and very inspiring. So…I decided to make my mom and my mother-in-law these little pictures that represent their mothers as far back as our family history records show.  I framed them and on the back of the frames I attached their full names, birth dates and death dates.  Kinda fun.  Mother’s Day was so fun. Hope you all had a nice one!

(click on any image to view larger)  Easter is such a fun time.  I love all of the egg coloring, fun candy, egg hunts and decorations.  Most of all though, I’m so grateful for my Savior, Jesus Christ, whose resurrection we celebrate on this day.  I’m so very, very grateful for Him.

My kids love doing this. You will need:

*a cookie sheet with sides (to catch the excess liquid and foam from the volcanoes)
*food coloring (if you want to color the volcanoes)
*baking soda
*vinegar
*canning jars or glasses
*teaspoon

Place glasses or canning jars on cookie sheet. Add about 1/3 cup of vinegar to each glass. Add a drop of food coloring to each glass. Then let your child spoon in the baking soda. You can add more vinegar and baking soda after each volcano settles down to make it active again.
