Nothing like a brand new pair of red flats for fall…

Every girl needs her rockstar red shoes, right? (I guess this type of shoe I bought hardly fits the “rockstar” category, but I can dream…)

Mixed Media Monday: Something Round

Tuesday, September 15th, 2009

We have had quite a few clouds in the sky lately and clouds seem to have rounded edges, so I hope this fits the theme.

Mustache Monday

Monday, September 14th, 2009

Once every so often, we surprise our kids by drawing mustaches on their faces during the night:

When the kids woke up this morning, they all thought it was pretty great, except for one child who didn’t think it was so great. We washed them off before school, of course, but I made some paper ones and put them in their lunches. I put tape on the back and wax paper on top of the tape so they can peel it off and stick it on during lunch, if they so choose.

Craft: “Spicy” Spices

Thursday, September 10th, 2009

A while back my Mom asked me to make some spice jar containers for her friends’ birthdays. She had made some of Emeril’s Essence Creole Seasoning and wanted some cute containers to put it in. I thought it was such a great idea!  All you do is: 1- buy those $1 plastic spice containers at a dollar store or grocery store (preferably spices that are included in the Creole Seasoning recipe), 2-empty contents into a plastic bag or other container, 3-wash out the spice container including taking the outer label off, 4-decorate the front with ribbons, scrapbook paper, silk flowers, plastic jewels, etc, 5-pour in the Creole Seasoning mixture you have made and 6- VOILA!   What a cute gift for friends!

I feel like these birdies might be getting tired of standing for so long! Where are the bird chairs?
