Craft: Cookie Jars

Monday, August 31st, 2009

Such a simple idea, but my kids really got excited about making their own “Cookie Jars” and desserts out of paper. I love to see it when their imaginations are working! (click on each image to view larger.)

Craft: Monster Socks!

Sunday, August 23rd, 2009

This is a really fun activity I did with my kids a couple of weeks ago.  Here’s the link to the crayola site I got the idea from:  http://www.crayola.com/crafts/detail/monster-socks-craft/

Step 1:  Trace your socks onto white paper, cut out the shapes, then doodle a design with crayola fabric crayons.

Step 2:  Turn your design upside down onto the white sock and iron on high heat with no steam about 1-2 mins.

Step 3:  Peel off paper from sock.

Step 4:  Ta da!  Try them on!

Here are some other designs my kids made:

(Sorry, the pictures aren’t the greatest.  I’ll get a new camera someday! :))

Illustration Friday: Caution

Friday, August 21st, 2009

When you hear an owl in the middle of the night, you should proceed with caution, right? Or have I just seen too many spooky movies? This owl doesn’t look too dangerous anyway, I guess. :)
